From Coffee to Dinner..... |
Amazon descriptions:
Coffee Date (The Shorts Book 2) You can find out a lot about yourself during the course of a single day. On the anniversary of the most tragic event of his life, Randall “The Rocket” Reese must face down paparazzi outside his house, a big sister who won’t stay out of his personal life, and a coffee date with an “old classmate” from high school whom he barely remembers. His plan is to wallow in solitude, but Fate has plans of its own. Just Lunch (The Shorts Book 3) Part 2 to the 'Coffee Date' Randall “The Rocket” Reese is beginning to reclaim his life both professionally and personally, with a new outlook, and a new woman, Dani Erlinger, by his side. Rand and Dani are in a comfortable groove that suits them both, but an unexpected invitation ‘just for lunch’ and a calamitous weekend excursion has them questioning whether they’ve become much too comfortable, much too soon. Table for Two (The Shorts Book 4) Part 3 of the love story that began with 'Coffee Date' and continued with 'Just Lunch'. After taking a high-profile position, Rand Reese’s visibility is once again on the rise; but returning to the public eye also means revisiting some of the uglier parts of his past. That past has Dani questioning whether anyone can make a relationship work under the glare of fame and notoriety. Even two people who are committed to making it work. My Thoughts: Gasp...but a good one A rollercoaster...no a whole amusement park of emotions and fun. And how relatable this was even considering the celebrity factor. I literally did a cheer at the end of this one and I'm moving on to the next. Great read. 👍 Say it upfront They have officially grown to be one of the best couples I've read. I can't say enough how real this was and identifiable. Feels like I know these people or I've experienced exactly what they are going through at some point in life. Even the dramatic moments are fully relatable. Great read 👍 Adulting.....as the kids say Being able to call yourself on your own mistakes and misdoings deal with them and find a way to true happiness. That's what we all hope to be able to pull off in real life. This was so well written from coffee to dinner that it was like watching a "true" story on someone's life. Really great read.👍👍 |
Finding Kennedy
Amazon description:
*This book focuses on a new couple and can be read as a standalone. When Kennedy James unexpectedly shows up at her grandma’s house in Tyler, Texas, no one knows what to make of her arrival—including her. The only thing Kennedy does know is that something in her life has to change, and it needs to happen right now. She’s been numb for much too long. Then she meets Travis Broussard, the perceptively cool guitarist of the indie soul band, The Prototype. The timing couldn’t be worse, but their attraction is instant, magnetic, and at times overwhelming, causing Kennedy to question if it’s possible to feel too much. As Kennedy attempts to embark on a new path, she finds herself at a crossroads. But if she chooses to follow her heart, is she prepared to deal with what she might find? My Thoughts:
Soul sounds Lets start with my absolute love for all things OUTKAST. So of course I was going to be all in to know more about this group. This played so well in my mind I don't think I've read anything that has had its own soundtrack to a point where I didn't need actual music The best thing about reading is finding jewels like this. This was clear in my imagination I could see things happening and feel the emotion. Growing up at the door steps of a HBCU I felt like I knew what these students/artist. Having really strong southern roots made me feel like I was a kid visiting my family for the summer again. Truly good read. |
Southern Love Series
Amazon description:
Feel the Southern heat with this steamy contemporary romance trilogy! When love comes unexpectedly to a trio of South Carolina couples, hard choices and complicated decisions must be made. But the heart wants what the heart wants . . .
My Thoughts:
Good reads All three were full of ups downs and twist and turns I love his they subtly tied into one another. And of course the updates on the previous charters were great. My heart skipped around a few times reading these. The way the author built the suspence and then just pushed it over the hill was A-mazing. I love feeling like I'm watching the movie screaming at the TV when I read. (yes I screamed at the kindle). But this was perfect in all three, the tone was classic a lot of the stories but the way its developed and portrayed made them great for any true reader. Really good reads. |

After ending a drama-filled relationship with a high-maintenance fashion model, Reese wants nothing more than to make a road trip to Florida with his motorcycle club. Never did he expect a quick stop at a small town bookstore would introduce him to a shy bookworm who makes him re-think his vow to remain single and unattached. My Thoughts:
Love a man with pride This was just the right flavor steamy....yet sweet. Dramatic and calm. I've spent some time in the south and this captured the feeling completely. Really good read. |
Winter Wonderland
Amazon description:
Cynthi wants to be anywhere but home. Kennedy gets iced in to start the New Year. Denise just freed herself from a toxic relationship. Kayla is home for the holidays. Winter Wonderland is a collection of short romance stories following four different women in completely unrelated situations. Whether they're redefining relationships, forming new relationships or mending old relationships, each woman is working through something this Winter. My Thoughts:
Sweet funny dramatic This was an amazing find. Shorts that make you want just one more paragraph or two are always the best. They made me smile laugh and gasp. Truly a good read. |
Hints of Spice |

When Cin Bradley packs up and moves herself, her mother, and her baby girl away from their home in Connecticut, she has no plans to make a love connection. She’s just trying to get settled into her new house, new job, and new life – until Landry Augustin comes to her front door. Together, they explore the potential of a romance neither was looking for – sweet, and a little spicy. PLEASE NOTE that Cin Bradley first appears in the book LOVE ON THE HIGHLIGHT REEL. There may be references and elements that do not make sense outside of the context of that project. This is a short little thing, exploring what happened to her after she moved away. This project, in entirety, was formerly available on my website. This version, for kindle, DOES NOT have additional content. The content contained here is no longer available on the website. Quick and spicy
I read parts of this last year as blog post it was great and wondered how it closed. Its quick funny dramatic and sexy. Not holding a person to their past and moving forward to the future is all any of us want in life, this is the perfect example. Who could ask for more. 👍👌 |
Eleanor & Park |
Amazon description:
Bono met his wife in high school, Park says. So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be, she says, we’re 16. What about Romeo and Juliet? Shallow, confused, then dead. I love you, Park says. Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be. Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits—smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love—and just how hard it pulled you under.

Young, Rich, and Black |
Amazon description:
When Chris “Deuce” Scaife, Jr. and the campus revolutionary, Zora Diallo have an unexpected and powerful encounter just before winter break, no one could have been more surprised than they were. While they’re home for the holiday, what started as a temporary fling continues and strengthens. But will their new bond survive their return to campus? Back at school, Deuce’s reputation as a wealthy and directionless player, and Zora’s as a young-woman-to-watch mean that their friends, priorities and maybe even their values might be sharply at odds. Can the power of their newfound passion for each other withstand their differences? Zora is looking to change the world, but Deuce is just enjoying being young, rich and Black. And ultimately, maybe the pull of their divergent paths will be stronger than the pull toward each other ... My Thoughts:
I think I have to start with just how much I already loved "Deuce" from the moment he told his dad to leave his cell phone on so he could be his best man. Yup I remember that moment with him so that being said I had some high hopes for the kid. The way the author delivered this though just cemented everything clearing the stereotypes that come from "young, rich black" men and women and how that money really wasn't theirs but the connection still pushed them into a place they may not have been comfortable with. The twist in this one where fun to read and the youth of it made it refreshing. Great read. |

My thoughts:
Who doesn't love a series I mean come on basically traveling through time with words that what book series do for me. Lovestruck is just that a time travel event done with true love. Like a lot of books I read I have no idea how I came across the first book but I did and then invested in the entire series which speaks to the author's ability to grab you. I mean if one book is offered free it's a gamble to see if people want to know the rest of what you have to say. I'm such an invested reader when I start something that catches my attention I have to dig in and find the answers. I kinda identified with Lizzie, I mean we all want to make our loved ones happy and its hard to walk a different path than the one they have or the one they think you should. What I loved most was the adventure in this one. I was no doubt full of exploration and fun adventures that made me feel like I was exploring those new places with her. My heart kinda felt everything hers did this was loads of fun. |
me+ somebody's son
Amazon Description: I don't aspire to memes - I'm more inclined to have a "hot girl summer" than getting mixed up in any type of "relationship goals".
Not that there's anything wrong with that, if that's your thing. It's just not MY thing. Well, it wasn't. But then I walked into- and then he - and OH, my supposed "friends"... man... How about I just tell you everything? (Me + Somebody's Son is a novella) My Thoughts: Just what I needed Just what I needed right now. So much going on i needed to smile a lot. And boy did that happen with this. I had fun with this and still felt all the underlying tones as well. I don't know one person that wouldn't have felt some type of way about the married friend being upset over them moving on together but this was just what I needed. Good Read. Just what I needed Just what I needed right now. So much going on i needed to smile a lot. And boy did that happen with this. I had fun with this and still felt all the underlying tones as well. Good Read. |

Three women are on a journey of self-discovery, as they deal with the fallout from choices made from emotion rather than self-awareness. My Thoughts: Emotional.....that's the best way to describe my state of mind after this amazing read. I've read many books that took me on a ride of emotions but this one....its just found emotional feelings and who knows what in me. I am first and for most a lover of all things girl "friends". These three women sharing a bond of sisterhood and still having a strong identity is something we can all enjoy and understand. I'm on pens and needles for there follow up. Great read👍 |
